Q- Why should I buy this bicycle engine kit?
A- Our engines are top quality, and we don't just say it for nothing. Ask any motorized bicycle group what they prefer to power their rides, and more likely than not we are the answer! Many customers come to us after having bad experiences with low quality bicycle motors. These kits are low cost, easy to build, and riding them is a type of fun that cannot be described.
Q- How long have you been around?
A- California Motorbikes has been around for over 10 years. We are a proud American company since 2013!
Q- How long do I have to wait before my order ships?
A- Handling time prior to shipping is about 1-3 days- pretty quick. Orders are hand packed with care by owner. Each engine is hand inspected prior to shipping for defects to ensure you receive the best motor.
Q- Which payment methods do you accept?
A- We take PayPal, as well as credit and debit cards. Credit and debit cards are processed by our payment provider PayPal, so you have full security and money back guarantee that PayPal offers in addition to our own personal guarantees on our quality. Q- Can I order by phone?
A- Sure you can! Although ordering on our website is easier for most, we fully understand that some of our customers are not great with computers and would rather speak to a human. Please text us a 415-306-3620 to place an order, and request for us to give you a call.
Q- What kind of bicycle can be used to build this motorized bike?
A- Any 26” bike will work with little to no modifications although other smaller bikes have accepted our kits. Basically, it’s a clearance issue. As long as the engine will fit into the space in the frame it will work. The engine is 10 ½ inches tall and 5 inches wide. IF YOU HAVE GEARS ON YOUR BICYCLE, IT'S NOT A ISSUE!
Beach cruisers, mountain bikes, all work. Anything with a big enough space in the frame!
Q- Why is your kit better than others I’ve seen?
A-Our kits have a proven reliability based on the thousands that we have sold in the states. Our kits have a long list of upgraded parts that you can learn about by clicking here.
Most importantly, we are a seller that is there when you need parts or support. We do not base our customer service out of some far away country. We are right here, and have personal experience from riding bikes with these engines personally. We are skilled in our troubleshooting abilities.
Q- What's included with the purchase of this engine kit?
A- Everything you need to convert your bike into a moped along with a complete detailed installation manual.
Q- What method do you use to ship?
A- Parts are all USPS.
Engine kits (west coast) are UPS. Engine kits (east coast) are USPS.
Q- Is this bike engine good for hills?
A- Absolutely! This engine is upgraded powerful and with the 40 tooth sprocket you can run up a steep hill with ease; even with a 250 -300lbs. load!
Q- How far can I ride a bike with engine installed?
A- You can ride until you run out of gas if you wish. This 1/2 gallon tank can easily take you about 60-70+ miles nonstop.
Q- Can this bike engine carry my weight?
A- This engine has been proven to be an absolute workhorse; even for persons up to 350 lbs! However it is recommended for persons up to 300 lbs.
Q- Is this bike engine difficult to maintain?
A- This bike requires very little or no maintenance, depending on your usage. These have routinely been ridden for almost a year without even oiling the chain! However the included maintenance tips gives you ideas on how to keep your bike in top shape.
Q- Can I get technical support for a bike kit or parts I purchased?
A- Absolutely! Due to the simplicity of these motors, it's easy to troubleshoot. To troubleshoot, please send us a message via email or text explaining your issue. We will respond quickly and get the problem worked out!
Q- Is the engine stamped or marked with the engine size?
A- There are no stamps or marking on the engine.
Q- How long does it take to install the kit?
A- 2-3 hours is standard but can be done in less than 2 once you get the hang of it!
Q- Are parts available for this bike.
A- Most certainly! All parts are available, from a screw, to a gasket, to a spark plug, to a cable, to a spare engine! All in stock.
Q- What are the shipping rates for engine kits?
A- Shipping is Only 13.00 to the continental U.S. Please email for a shipping quote outside of the continental U.S. All motors ship USPS.
Q- When can I expect my item to arrive?
A- You can expect your order to be shipped out in 2-5 business days after placing an order. We do not ship on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.
Q- What if my item arrived broken/damaged?
A- In the unfortunate circumstances that you may receive an item that was damaged during shipping. just ship it back and we will replace it at no extra cost. Please notify us within 48 hours of receiving the damaged item . Because filing damage claims with freight carriers are time sensitive, we cannot accept damages reported after 48 hours post-delivery, so please check your engine upon receipt. Damage is very rare.
Q- Returns
A- Returns are accepted within 10 days of receiving your item. Please keep in mind that there is a 15% restocking fee, and shipping isn't refundable.
